Chrysler Launches Vehicle Order Tracking System or "VOTS"

Chrysler Group pulls the wraps off its first consumer-focused, self-service system that allows customers to track the production progress of their new Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge or Ram vehicle.

The Vehicle Order Tracking System can be accessed at each of the brand sites using the same URL format:

To use the VOTS, customers need to give their email address, their first name and last name (along with typical required information) to the dealer sales person when the order is being filled out. Giving the dealer your email address will enable you to receive the VIN via email once it is generated.

If, for whatever reason, you do not give the dealer your email address when the order is being filled out, you're still in good shape. Simply contact your sales person and ask him/her to add your email to the order.

If you're the type who doesn't like to receive emails, again, you're in good shape. After receiving your order confirmation and VIN, you can opt out of future dealer emails but still have access to VOTS.

Customers will receive just three emails about their new vehicle once they leave the dealer:
  • Order confirmation
  • Production Scheduled, and the email will include a link to the VOTS site, plus their VIN
  • Shipment confirmation

As you can see in the image below, you need the final eight digits of the VIN, plus your first and last name used in the dealer order to check the progress of your new Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and/or Ram.

Once customers receive their VIN, they can check in on their new addition at any time to see which of the eight production stages* (example below) their "baby" is in:
  1. Confirmation (also notified via email)
  2. Production scheduled (also notified via email)
  3. Frame
  4. Paint
  5. Trim
  6. Final Inspection
  7. Shipment (also notified via email)
  8. Delivery

These first features are just the beginning as Chrysler Group will regularly update the site. Among the future updates is the addition of pop-up messages for information related to specific vehicles, like if there's a delay in production or other changes and new information.
