*** Dixie Safety Tech *** Blind Spot Monitoring System and Rear Cross Path System

Blind Spot Monitoring System

This system alerts the driver to traffic that enters the vehicle’s blind spot zones. It uses two radar-based sensors, located inside the rear bumper fascia to detect vehicles that enter the blind spot zones from three different entry points: the rear, the front and the side of the vehicle. The Blind Spot Monitoring sensors operate when the vehicle is in any forward gear moving at least 6 miles per hour or in reverse.

Rear Cross Path

Rear Cross Path system

Rear Cross Path alerts drivers to traffic that will soon be crossing behind the vehicle while in reverse. It uses both a visual icon in driver’s sideview mirror and an audible chime to alert drivers to crossing traffic.

When backing out of a parking spot flanked by large vehicles, side mirrors and the rearview mirror don’t go very far in terms of showing the driver hidden vehicles approaching from the sides. Rear Cross Path’s two radar sensors, which are mounted near the van’s rear bumper, detect the oncoming traffic and a potential collision.
